Skylight Calendar

If you’re managing a busy household, you know how overwhelming managing everyone’s schedules can be. Between work commitments, kids’ activities, appointments, drop-offs and pick-ups, meal planning, and social events, things can get missed pretty easily. After a few schedule mishaps, I decided that the Skylight Calendar was the answer to our problems. The Skylight is a sleek, digital organization tool that makes syncing and managing schedules completely effortless. And with a dock that we keep in our kitchen, everyone can always see what’s happening that week. I’m going to share how the Skylight helped me take control of my family’s schedule, and why it’s so much more than a calendar. And so it’s clear, this post was not written in partnership with Skylight and my calendar was not gifted.

Manage Your Family Schedule With the Smart Skylight Calendar

I love the concept of an old-fashioned paper calendar, but they make no sense when managing family activities and work calendars. And I don’t always think to look at my phone first thing in the morning. The Skylight Calendar is a game changer for keeping track of a family’s busy schedule. It makes it easier than ever to help my kids stay on top of their daily routine, and helps me map out our entire week. With its touch screen display and seamless integration with Google Calendar, it serves as a family hub that helps us keep track of our busy schedules complete with color coding for each family member. But it’s more than just a calendar—it doubles as an interactive chore chart, helping kids stay on top of their responsibilities, and can store grocery lists and other custom lists, so nothing gets overlooked.

As a bonus, the Skylight screen transforms into a beautiful digital photo frame (similar to the Skylight frame). The photo display is a favorite feature for all of us – and my kids love when I upload new photos to the calendar. It’s the perfect blend of practicality and personalization for busy households.

A Smart Display for the Whole Family

With three kids, a husband, au, pair, and my own work schedule to juggle, I needed one place to house everything. And I wanted everyone to be able to see what was going on. The Skylight Calendar is that hub. It sits on the counter in our kitchen (where everyone can see it) and acts as the family command center.

Every event, class, and meeting is displayed in one place, and everyone has a different color to make tracking their schedule easy. My girls, ages 4 and 6 can easily see their schedules for the day.

The Skylight comes in 3 sizes – the 10″, 15″ (I have this one) and the 27″ calendar max, which mounts on the wall. I really like the 15″ screen size – it’s large enough that it’s easy to read everything but doesn’t look too big. The two smaller calendars both feature landscape orientation, and the max can be hung in portrait or landscape mode.

Setup Couldn’t be Easier

Setting up the Skylight couldn’t be easier. You just need the Skylight app and internet connection to set it up. The Skylight Calendar syncs with Google Calendar, Outlook, and Apple Calendar, so I synced everything with my Google calendar, and still use that app to manage our schedule. You can also add or edit new events on the digital display. I already had my calendar set up so everyone had their own color-coded calendar. When the Skylight If I add a work meeting or a dentist appointment on my phone, it automatically appears on the Skylight Calendar. It’s effortless, and as a mom, I’ll take anything that saves me time.

Reminders and Plans Everyone Actually Sees

Let’s be honest—phone reminders are easy to ignore, especially when you’re always juggling 10 things at once. But with the Skylight Calendar sitting front and center, we all see its reminders every time we walk by. It’s like having a gentle nudge to keep me on track, whether it’s an early dismissal, pajama day at school, or a brand partnership going live.

Customizable for a Big Family

Each family member has their own color on the calendar, which makes it so much easier to read. Now I already had this setup with my Google Calendar, and since it syncs, it all transitioned seamlessly over to our Skylight. I still use my Google Calendar app and it all syncs up immediately. This visual system saves me so much mental energy. I can quickly see conflicts and can plan on who needs to be where and when.

It’s Perfect for the Kitchen Counter

The Skylight Calendar is sleek and compact, so it doesn’t take up much space. We have the 15″ and the size is perfect for the kitchen counter. Everyone sees it—whether they’re grabbing breakfast, packing lunches, or heading out the door.

Extras That Make Life Easier

In addition to schedules, I use the Skylight Calendar to create to-do lists, grocery lists, and even meal plans. The touchscreen display makes daily dinner plans, chores, and staying on top of everything so much easier. The chore chart makes routine tasks more fun and rewarding for kids. It’s even great for younger kids – my 4 year-old loves it. The Skylight Chore Chart allows you to assign, track, and organize household tasks and responsibilities. Each family member can have their own profile, complete with personalized tasks and due dates. You can track completed tasks and offer incentives, like extra screen time or a special treat.

Why It’s a Game Changer for Working Moms

Life as a mom is hard. My brain feels like it’s running at full capacity 24/7, and it can feel a little overwhelming to stay on top of everything I need to do in a day. But the Skylight Calendar has eased so much of my mental load. It helps me manage my work-life balance by giving me one less thing to worry about. It’s also teaching my kids responsibility. They can check the calendar to see what’s coming up, which gives them a sense of ownership over their schedules and responsibilities.

The Skylight Subscription

The Skylight calendar’s annual subscription is $39 annually, and has been a great addition to our Skylight calendar. It allows you to sync multiple digital calendars (like Google, Apple, or Outlook) seamlessly in one place. You can also create shared to-do lists. Assign tasks to family members, track progress, and keep everyone accountable. The subscription also includes features like local weather integration and customizable reminders.

And then there’s the main reason I signed up for the Skylight subscription – the ability to display family photos alongside the calendar. Upload an unlimited number of pictures that display on the calendar, making it serve as a digital picture frame. The Skylight app is an essential part of the subscription. It syncs with your calendar, so you can update schedules, add events, and manage to-dos from anywhere. You don’t have to have the subscription, but I think it makes the entire experience that much better.

Is the Skylight Calendar Worth It?

If you’re a busy mom managing multiple schedules, the Skylight Calendar is worth every penny. It’s not just a tool—it’s a stress-reliever and time-saver.

If you’re struggling to keep track of all the moving pieces in your life, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s the best investment I’ve made for our family’s organization, and I honestly don’t know how we managed without it.
