A Weekend in The Hamptons
As someone who grew up in Los Angeles and now lives in a city where it’s freezing half the year, you can imagine how much I appreciate these warm summer months. From exploring my own city to BBQs to booking summer getaways, I’m doing everything I can to make the most of it. Here’s how to spend a weekend in the Hamptons. Spending a weekend in the Hamptons offers a delightful escape, blending luxury, relaxation, and the charm of coastal New York. Start your Friday evening by settling into a charming bed-and-breakfast or a lavish beachfront hotel.
How to Spend A Weekend in The Hamptons
On Saturday morning, indulge in a hearty breakfast at a local café like Hampton Coffee Company, where you can savor freshly brewed coffee and homemade pastries. Post-breakfast, explore the charming villages and their boutiques, art galleries, and antique shops. East Hampton and Southampton are particularly renowned for their upscale shopping scenes. If you’re an art enthusiast, the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill is a must-visit, showcasing American art and offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
As the day progresses, head to the beach. The Hamptons boast some of the most beautiful beaches on the East Coast. Coopers Beach in Southampton, with its pristine sands and clear waters, is perfect for sunbathing, swimming, or a leisurely stroll. For a more active afternoon, consider renting a bike and exploring the scenic routes or taking a hike in the Mashomack Preserve on Shelter Island, which offers trails through diverse ecosystems.
Saturday evening can be spent enjoying a seafood feast at a local favorite like Dockers Waterside Marina & Restaurant in East Quogue, where you can dine with waterfront views. Afterwards, experience the vibrant nightlife, from sophisticated bars to live music venues.
On Sunday, a relaxed brunch at a farm-to-table restaurant like Bridgehampton’s Almond is ideal. Conclude your weekend with a wine tasting at one of the local vineyards, such as Wölffer Estate Vineyard, where you can sip on exquisite wines amidst the vineyard’s serene beauty. As you prepare to depart, you’ll find that a weekend in the Hamptons is both rejuvenating and memorable, offering the perfect blend of relaxation and activity.
I spent one night in New York before driving from NYC to The Hamptons. It was the best long weekend. We rented a Range Rover Evoque (convertible!). It was so fun to drive. We checked into Sole East and went right to the pool.
We stopped by Goop Market, One King’s Lane, Club Monaco, Serena and Lily, Ralph Lauren, and Reformation.
