Our whole family traveled to Puerto Vallarta for a beach holiday, and I was so excited to pack some of my favorite resort wear. Whether you’re traveling for summer vacation, spring break, or getting escaping the snow, there’s nothing like a fun day at the beach. It was one of the most relaxing places I’ve ever been, and we had such a fun time. Beach vacations are my favorite to pack for because the outfits are easy to wear and can look effortlessly chic. I love a beach day with the kids, and with the right beach vacation outfits, you can effortlessly transition from lounging poolside to having dinner or drinks while the sun sets.

In today’s blog post, I’m going to share some chic beach vacation outfits. It just takes the right pieces and accessories, and of course, sun protection, and all your beach bag essentials. Whether you’re packing for a tropical getaway or a coastal retreat, or prefer wraps or beach cover-ups, I’ve got you covered. All you need is a good book, the right clothing, a few pieces of swimwear, ad the most important thing – a good hat and SPF for your beach vacation. And don’t forget the disposable wipes and wet bags for your wet clothes and sandy items. Here’s your ultimate beach vacation packing list.

Beach Vacation Outfits: What to Pack for a Tropical Getaway

We just returned from a beach getaway and had the best time. There’s nothing like a family beach vacation in the winter months! So I thought I’d share some of the essentials I packed for a week-long vacation. When it comes to beachwear, the classic swimsuit paired with a stylish cover-up is always chic. I love a cover up or linen dress, or a pareo, worn with or without a tee. Pair that with a great straw bag, sandals, and finish off the look with a sun hat and and sunglasses. We stayed at a resort which made getting to the beach a breeze – we only needed personal items since the resort had beach chairs and a beach towel for everyone.

So if you’re planning your next beach vacation and aren’t sure what to pack, here’s my beach packing list. When it comes to beach essentials for the kids, my must-haves are a good rash guard or bathing suit, small first aid kit, beach toys, and snacks like granola bars. And most important, sunscreen. I actually pack paper and gel pens so the kids have fun things to do while sitting under an umbrella if they want to take a break from swimming, looking for shells, and building sand castles.

Here’s my beach trip packing list.

Vacation rentals are my favorite way to go on a family vacation to the beach. They usually provide beach towels and other beach gear, and having a house is so nice with kids. Our house had everything we needed for our beach trip with kids. Choose a beach destination that’s family-friendly with fun things for the kids to do. Grab your stuff, find a beach umbrella, and get ready for a day of fun in the sun.

This is such a chic and stylish beach hat that you'll feel great in. I wore mine the entire vacation. When packing, the easiest way to protect your hat is to surround and fill the hat with rolled up clothes to protect it.
