My Favorite Holiday Decor

It’s still a little too early to get a Christmas tree (or at least that’s what I’m telling myself). I’ve always waited until after Thanksgiving but this year, I’m feeling especially festive. We’ve been in gift guide mode so the holiday tunes have been playing for weeks, Chicago had it’s first snowfall, and this is the first year I’ll be celebrating Christmas with my husband and our family.

I’m shooting my holiday home tour for The Everygirl in just two weeks, so waiting until after Thanksgiving just isn’t an option. I always get a tree and place wreaths in a window or two since greenery and twinkle lights are my go-to. A little worried they’ll dry out if I get them this weekend. Has anyone else ever gotten a live tree and garland this early? There’s a post coming with decorating tips coming soon! Until then, here’s some of my favorite holiday decor that’s out right now.

I too wondered when the best time would be to get a Christmas tree. But if you really think about it, the trees are always cut at the same time — so it will be the same age regardless of when you get it. Also, it will be in better shape the longer it is in a full tree stand of water out of the sunshine in your home. I read this article last week which backed up that school of thought: https://www.thoughtco.com/reasons-to-buy-your-christmas-tree-early-1342754. So my thoughts (and what I will be doing this year): I would get a tree as soon as they are at the tree lots!

  • Ho cute is the mug and napkin and kitchen sets. Those are the kinds of little touches I like in my home for Christmas. As for the tree, I never do real trees so I’m no help here.

Such cute items, thanks for curating! I think if you spritz your garland and boxwood wreaths with water using a spray bottle it will stay alive/fresh longer. I say the more time to embody the spirit of the season, the better! <3
