In case you missed it, Jess & Jude came to visit last week! Yes, she traveled 2000 miles by plane with a 2 month old baby.

It all started on Saturday afternoon when I hopped on a train to O’Hare to meet them at the airport. Unfortunately for us, there was a minor glitch in that plan. The glitch? They flew into Midway. And I didn’t realize that until I got off the train at O’Hare. At least I know how to get to O’Hare, since I may be heading back there in a few weeks {hint, hint}. But where am I going? Well…that’s a surprise. A big surprise. And that’s all I’m going to say about that.

Life lesson. Must. Check. Flight. Info.

We quickly recovered from the craziness of Jess’ arrival, and headed out to meet Gussy for dinner at Giordano’s {for pizza}. Over the next few days we ordered dinner from Irazu, had breakfast at Yolk & Orange and lunch at Bourgeois Pig & Hannah’s Bretzel {my favorite sandwich shop}.

Navy Pier.

We visited Michigan Avenue, Lincoln Park, Navy Pier, the Randolph Street Market, and of course…The Bean.

Randolph Street Market.

The trip flew by and after some cool & windy weather, it ended with the perfect day. Jude was in a fantastic mood, the weather was amazing, and entire day was lovely. I even treated myself to a soy pumpkin spice latte & later on that day…a mint chocolate chip ice cream cone. HUGE splurge for me since I never eat ice cream. I’m like a 5 year old when I hang out with Jess. I always get a special treat. It’s our thing.

Fun Aunt Danielle {that’s my official title} takes her little nephew to see the bean!

Love this pic of Jess & Jude!

Hey, Jude. Chinchilly may be my nail polish color this fall & winter. I’m obsessed.

I walked down Michigan ave in a sequined skirt with one of my best friends while eating an ice cream cone on a perfect fall day in Chicago. Life doesn’t get much better than that. Thanks for coming all the way out to Chicago, Jess! It was so great having you here.

Right after they left, I got a text from my friend Christine asking me to meet her & a friend at Hub 51 for drinks. We each enjoyed a margarita & then walked over to Rick Bayless’ restaurant, XOCO for dinner.

After all those treats, you can bet that I skipped ordering a churro. But I hear they’re pretty fantastic.
